We remember Those Who Have Died.

Joyce Cadman

Born 12th October 1935 died 13th July 2019

Joyce joined  HWBC in 1995. She won the Captains prize in 2001 and was Ladies Captain in 2009.

Joyce served on the committee and was a club director until ill health forced her to stand down.

Joyce maintained her contact with the club attending Saturday roll ups as a spectator and club social events.

Joyce was found dead in her chair at home on the 13 July. Members of the club together with fellow bowlers who knew Joyce  attended her funeral at Perry Barr Crematorium along with family members  and members of Stockland Green Methodist Church where Joyce was a member of the choir and ladies club. This was followed by a short service at Stockland Green Methodist Church.

A collection was made For Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) which Joyce supported.

Brian Swinbourne

Brian was born in January 1939 and died in February of 2020

Brian Joined the club in June of 2015 and went bon to play regularly for the Evergreens and when the call, literally came he played a match for the club in the BBA league.

Brian had asense of humour as those who played alongside him found out, however his humour was always in fun. Brian was forced to give up bowls due to ill health

Jean Marson

Jean had been a member since 2002 and continued to have news of members all the while that she was in Perry Locks Nursing home (three and a half years)

She passed peacefully away at NHS carecentre the Leasowes on Saturday 11 April 2020. Jean had been taken to City Hospital with sevral problems. She tested positive for Covid 19 and was transferred to the Leasowes.

She was cremated on the 20th May 2020 and a memorial service will be held when the regulations allow it

Norman Farmer

Norman was President in 2007 and a committee member who would work behind the bar. Norman was also a member of the Wednesday working party until ill health forced him to stop.

He was admitted to residential care as his health failed

Norman went into hospital on the 8th January 2021 after testing positive for Covid and passed away on the 17th of January 2021

Sandra Niven Jenkins

Sandra and her family were supportes of the club and their names can be found on the winners boards in the club. 

Sandra went unconscious on the 23 January 2021 and taken to Sandwell hospital where she never really came round. Her condition worsened on the 3 February and the Drs could do nothing and Sandra died.
